JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Pipelayer to join our team. This position is responsible for installing, aligning, and connecting underground pipe for water, sewer, storm drainage, and other utility systems. This is a physically demanding position that requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Install, align, and connect underground pipe and structures for water, sewer, storm drainage, and other utility systems.

  2. Prepare trenches and bedding for proper installation.

  3. Set and maintain proper grade, elevation, and alignment according to plans and specifications.

  4. Use hand tools, laser levels, grade rods, and other equipment to assist with pipe and structure installation.

  5. Install and connect pipes, fittings, manholes, catch basins, and other related components.

  6. Inspect structures, pipe and fittings for defects or damage before installation.

  7. Work closely with equipment operators, laborers, foremen, and other crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently.

  8. Assist with trench preparation, backfilling, compaction, and general site cleanup.

    Performs other tasks required by management

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience as a pipelayer or in underground utility construction 

  • Knowledge of pipe and structure installation methods, trenching, grading, bedding, and backfilling

  • Ability to accurately set and maintain pipe alignment, grade, and elevation

  • Familiarity with hand tools, pipe lasers, levels, grade rods, and other pipe installation equipment

  • Knowledge of proper trench safety and excavation procedures

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in trenches

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation

  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and MVR
